We’re still celebrating the new year and that means savings for you! For the next few months, we will feature an instructor and the classes they will be teaching at upcoming events. During that period only, if you sign up for one of their classes you will receive a 20% discount on the total cost of the class. This is a great opportunity to try a new instructor, delve into a technique that might appeal to you, or just venture out of that “comfortable art” box. Register for the class online, as usual, and we will credit your account, accordingly. Our current featured instructor is Jill Berry. Jill is teaching two classes in Virginia.

Deadline for registration is Friday, January 29th. Available for new class registration only. Not acceptable to transfer from previously registered class in order to receive discount.

Magical Midnight Stories

Jill Berry

Jill is a mixed-media artist, teacher, and mom in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains who makes lots of books, paintings and other story-telling structures. Born and raised in California, she also spent a year of graduate studies in Italy, where she learned to see a bigger picture of both art and the world in general. She focuses her work on text, color and social issues, and it often involves maps, symbols, houses, housewives, and the mystique of charisma. It can be seen in Letter Arts Review, Somerset Studio, In Flight, Cloth, Paper Scissors, Interactive Workshop: Mixed Media in Motion by Kim Rae Nugent, and the upcoming issue of Art Journaling. Her handmade books are in the permanent collections of the Newberry Library in Chicago and the Denver Public Library. Her paintings and artist’s books have been shown in national invitational and juried shows and can be found in public and private collections across the country. She has taught at three universities in Colorado and various other institutions nationally and feels that art is necessary and accessible to everyone.
